It's a new day.....

And I made it to watch the day wake up with God. I "love" these days!!! I love walking out before the sunrise and watching the world come alive.

Prior to God moving me he would orchestrate "dates" for us to meet to reconnect. I lived for those trips and such a darkness would settle over me in between. I will never forget the lesson God showed me when I knew it was time to go see Him face to face.

It was fall break, my daughter and I were so looking forward to the time away. We were packed, had the dogs taken care of and we were ready to go. Ready to go... yet something was not right. I had a feeling like this just wasn't the time to be leaving, we should just wait...but wait, that is crazy, there was/is no way I can do those trips on my own, God is who orchestrated it. So why would He organize everything and then take away our peace?

So we continued on, we drove. Getting near the next exit my daughter asked me "if anything were to happen in the car who do I call"? Say what? Where was this coming from? Out of all of our trips never once had she asked this question.

I turned to her and asked what was going on, she stated that she was very uncomfortable about this trip and she didn't have peace. I kept my mouth shut, I didn't want to say anything until I knew for sure so I drove. And I drove. Drove some more...the entire time trying to reason with God. We even sat in a gas station for about 30 minutes trying to pray for the peace to come.

I got on the interstate and got about 2 1/2 hours from home when I finally said to God, "I am to turn around aren't I? That is what you are trying to tell me isn't it? I will turn around at the next exit"

As soon as I said this I felt an incredible amount of peace come over me... I went on to thank God for what He was protecting us from and for what He had for us to do in His name instead of heading out for a "recharge".

I was not surprised at all to later find out there was an accident on the interstate, a big one.

God doesn't always speak in an audible voice, to me I hear Him in nature, in my body, in the feelings that come over me.

Are you allowing yourself to be aware enough to hear God? Are you looking outside of the normal for the extraordinary? He is speaking and if we listen He will change our lives....

It’s even Biblical … although we are living in a time where good is bad and bad is good. Such a broken world. I have went back and forth...
